How are the exhaust turndowns attached to the mufflers on a2006 GL1800?

I noticed thereare exposed bolts on the stock muffler extentions. Are the replacement turndowns fastened with the same bolts?

I've just about decided I don't like the stock muffler extentions.

Those three exposed bolts are what hold the extensions on. They are all interchangeable on all GL1800 models from all years. The new Hondaline extensions fit all years and they look really good.

My local Honda Dealer parts and accessoryman said there are no Hondaline chrome exhaust extentions. Is he wrong?

But the showchrome or add-on after market ones are just as good and half the price ,,The ones above are the honda ones ,They are 3/4 turndowns ,I cannot remember if it is the showchrome or the add-on are full turndown and are longer than the others ,,

Thanks wexman,

The young guy I was talking to at the Honda Dealer part department didn't sound very sure of himself.

THe Honda price is a bit on the high side isn't it? I think I'll settle for the Kuryakyn brand at $94.99. It looks good and the price is less than half of the Honda price.

Check the show chrome ones they are way better looking than the kury ones ,,Bigger turndown and longer ,,part number 52-618 and are cheaper than kury .
