I had been watching it for a couple of days and finally call about it yesterday. The add said 1983 GL1100............$900, but when I call about it I was prepared to offer him $500 since I would have to travel 300 miles to get it and then turn around and come back. He said it was really an 84 Interstate and that I could have it for $600. That was because the rad and water pump housing was off the bike. I said no problem I'll be there in the morning and hung up. Then I remembered I forgot to ask about the title. I called back and he can't find the title. He still looking. I thinking I'll call him offer him $500 without the title. What do you think???????????

Not sure about the laws down there (yet) but here in snowville, all you would need to do is take a bill of sale and the vin number to get a dup title... Don't sound like a bad deal other than that, if he would take the $500

I'm a little confused by the bottom of your post. Has the bike been wrecked, and if so, by how much??????

Not sure on the title I think he can file for a lost title. Makes me nervous when someone says they cant find the title, but for 600 bucks you could either part it out or do one of your fabulous rebuilds on it.

I would offer to go help you but I'm only going to be off this coming Sunday, working 6 days straight.

oK, here is an update: I got a call this morning from the guy selling the 1200 (Mark). He said he still hadn't found the title but for me to come on up. If he hadn't found the title by the time I get there I could have the bike for $400 but if he finds the title I pay him $600 for it. I agreed. So I'm on my way in the morning to Keene, Texas to pick it up..................................
