This was sparked by the camera mount thread........

what's the current wisdom via video cams? What's best for the committed biker?

My camera is the Oregon Scientific ATC2K. It is self contained, records 1 hour on a 2gb SD disc. It takes acceptable video, what do you expect for $100?

I did not like the "cheap camera" view through the lens, so I modified mine with a wide angle adapter lens. Very happy with that now! An added benefit is apparently cagers think it is a radar gun, and that I am a cop, when I have it mounte on the bars!

Still, vibrations through the bars can cause the picture to "pulse", so I am slowly working on improving that. Video can put downloaded into your computer, or shot directly to a TV or VCR.

Oregon Scientific now make the ATC3K, which has a wide angle view, although not the camera grade lens I have mounted on mine, looks almost identical to the top picture, costs about $150

Now Mel, You won't get any pics of the road except when you shift gears and the front end comes down. And that's just for a second. I KNOW how the Bent Wing goes.

Keep enjoying your Bent Wing,

Ivan
