To you guys that have the clarion 1 radio set-up with the 4 gauge cluster that mounts between the speakers. Where are you supposed to mount the temp. gauge probe? I have it in the fairing, but it reads high for obvious reasons. I though about putting it into the boot for the vents, but wasn't sure.

on my 80 that had the type 1 that had those gages it had a tube that was cilped to the lower edge of the front of the fairing above the fender.

1979 gl1000 dressed --back to naked
1980 gl1100 interstate --side lined
1983 gl1100 interstate the fastest color--RED

Thanks WDA. Where does the probe exit the fairing? Guess I will need to drill another hole. Not a biggie, PO put a couple of nice ones in it for cheap gauges that died.
