I finally worked up the courage to tackle cutting down my windshield. 4". I would give myself a b+. Not perfect, but good.

Now, I will be more willing to ride at night... the glare through that tall windshield was hard to see through...

6'-2", 210, old Geezer Glide and a big dumb grin.

Goldwings. . . if you're gonna have something between your legs, it might as well be enormous and smooth.

Good for you UBW! I still haven't gotten bold enough to remove any of the tupperware on my bike. I do take off the side panels to check the oil and such. Anything beyond that I take her to the dealer.

BTW - watch out for those nasty deer after sundown! They are out to get ya!

I pretty short myself, if I could I'd add some more windshield to direct over my wife. I don't want any add-ons attached to the existing.

I had it apart, cut, preliminary sanded, and back together in 2 hours.

That was the "alone-time" window I had whilst my foster daughter was with her skills trainer...

I measured up a specific distance on either side, from the top of the mirror mount, and marked. Then I used a large radius starting at that point, connected the marks. Its sorta flat at the top, but oh well...

Masking tape both sides. Cut it with a handheld jig saw leaving the mark behind, Cut slowly and don't run the saw too fast or it will melt the windshield. Then file to the mark and sand smooth.

I marked mine by using a compass set to the distance I wanted to take off then marked while keeping the compass straight up and down, (Bike on centerstand) the end result was the windshield is 2 inches shorter but the profile is almost exactly the same.
