There are good cops and there are the others when they made it compulsory over here i was caught with a ww11 german infantry helmet but i had glued the lining from a old bs approved lid so it had all the correct numbers could only get away with it the once though. wouldnt ride without the correct protection now.

you cover your face you are going to get pulled over on a bike in a car walking down the street

how many more blind spots do you want when you ride?

my question is why

FHP probably hasn't seen many but have you seen the snowmobile specific full face helmets with breathing masks? Darth Vader would be jealous!

LOL....well...at least the guy wasn't ticketed for trying to make a fashion statement. Jeez... that has to be the ugliest thing I've seen in a long time.

did anyone read the posts towards the bottom of the page?

i can't believe the way some people think

the last time i looked a full face helmet did not hide your face so many of those people keep missing that point

i showed this to a cop friend of mine he said he would pull him over just because it looks like he is hiding something

And what of the winter face masks we all wear to keep our face warm? Never been pulled for wearing it and make sure I pull it off as soon as I shut down the bike.

Now if a cop pulls me over for wearing it and makes the stupid statement he pulled me because I looked like I was hiding something then I'd probably tell him that is the stupidest probable cause excuse I had ever heard of.

A full face helmet covers the face. A clear visor would allow the face to be visible.
A shaded visor would totally obscure the face from view.

But the law that was cited hasnt anything to do with the local highway traffic laws

Florida statute FL 876.12.

"876.12 is a criminal statute based on an old (anti-) Klan law where you are not allowed to cover your face or head," says Guenther, who has sought legal counsel. "It isn't suppose to be a traffic rule that applies to people on motorcycles."

Not my kind of helmet either.

But under that law it would be illegal to wear any helmet with a sun visor, full face or open face.

Sheesh and I was going to ride to Florida this year, me thinks I shall give it a miss

If it was a dot approved helmet we would not be having this discussion

It seems to me just another bonehead looking for attention just like the

Parents that sent there kid up in a weather balloon to make it onto a tv show
