More work to make the bike and trailer happy, er uh, me happy

The new AGM battery is happy sitting on a battery tender, NPR is talking to me again and I don't need to worry about them running the battery down.

I have a special cord hanging out of the fairing now, with a two wire rubber plug for the battery tender to plug into. The little air compressor I bought also fits that same plug.

Managed to loose the template and plastic cover that hides the hole for the Utopia backrest.... sigh, but the Utopia folks mailed one out for me free of charge.

did more, but it is a bunch of little nit picking things now that just make me feel better.

Rode it to work. 60 degrees on the way in and 94 on the way home.

Only a biker knows why a dog puts his head out of a window of a moving vehicle.

I don't know, now that you mentioned it I haven't seen any deer. Maybe it's working properly

Today I had to replace several fuel lines that had just rotted out because of ethanol fuel.

It was hard to fit the new lines in due to them being slightly off a size. Its like 120 degrees in my garage and high humidity today. After some fiddling with it finally got it back together and running. And ... oops wrong forums....

Today the guy in the big brown truck delivered some new riding sunglasses that come with interchangeable lenses. A big plus because my helmet has a dark smoke shield and I can't see anything when I commute to work in the morning. I had been wearing clear safety glasses and that worked ok although the lenses weren't optically correct and gave me a kind of fishbowl POV and they were starting to get scratched up. The new sunglasses come in a kit with 5 interchangeable lenses, a cleaning cloth, a soft bag, instructions and a nice case that holds everything. Pretty cool since they only cost $25 from Amazon. They seem nice enough, look sort of like Oakleys, have a night time drivers lens, a clear lens and the dark lens is supposed to be polarized. I'm guessing the rainbow lens is just regular sunglasses. They felt nice when I put them on and they got pretty decent reviews on Amazon.

Also got a set of EP7 Sonic Defender Ultra earplugs by Surefire. Going to be my first time trying a decent set of earplugs so I hope they are worth it. I mean they weren't expensive but I've just never worn them riding before. The other day on my work ride it was windy and I was driving a bit fast and by the time I got off the bike my ears were ringing. And I didn't like it.

I rode to Best Buy and got a 3.5mm extension cord for the GPS speaker to intercom adapter. Took a nap, and now it is time to go to the garage again.... glad that a/c unit is on.

Hey Happytrails, I have an easier way to avoid the loud noises....

I just turn off my hearing aids.
