Today I took the plunge. Changed oil to Shell Rotella T6 full synthetic. $19/gallon with a $5 rebate assuming I get enough energy to send it in. So $25 myself versus $75 at the dealer.

Star Trunk Washers

We took our trunk off to install a inside rack we made. It has starlike washers that were mounted on the inside of the trunk. We went to the accessory store to get some things and he says the star washers go on the top? What do you guys think??

As I posted earlier this week I met with the previous owner at the dealership. He is a very nice guy who was meticulous with the Wing
He had every receipt from the bill of sale, the pink slip and every service slip. He traded that on a new 15 Gl1800. Funny thing was when he was out there buying his bike his brother was with him and also bought a new Wing. That was confirmed by a salesman.

Well, the intention was not the addition, but... I believe the Goldwing now has a little brother called "1981 GL500 Silverwing"
Needs a starter clutch, but fairly pristine otherwise. Rides beautiful. A great In-town bike.

Changed my rear differential oil. First change and I've been a slacker. Never checked it before now and always trusted the dealer to check during service. Level very very low.

Yesterday we rode up north to Volant Mills Winery, walked around for awhile then storms were moving in. Got pounded on the way home. Had to find 2 overpasses to seek cover. Had the rain gear on but was coming down to fast and hard to ride in. There were a lot of cars pulled over too. Went back up north to McConnell's Mill to finish what we started yesterday. We put about 225 miles on in 2 days. Had a great time!!

Those are great sounding bikes with that V2 inline mill. The 650 came out due to complaints that the 500 was a bit underpowered but I didn't think they were bad when I rode one a few years ago.
You need the full set, the 500, 650 and the Silverwing 600cc scooter.

DaveO430 installled a new FI module in my 1800, resolved the "Knock Sensor" fault light

New problem showed up, but it is minor.

As I come to a stop and pull the clutch in, engine idling, the RPMs hunt up and down.

Gladly have that instead of a faulty knock sensor.

I was cleaning up the bike and the new Austone rear tire looks good... just have the mufflers to put on and am ready to roll... I started it up without the mufflers on and it sounded like my old Hayabusa Drag bike without the whine of the KKK Turbo...

See everybody at NASSIR 8... I will be camping...
