Thankee thankee.
My skin is crawling every time I check the weather forecast for this weekend.
Supposed to rain and I've got a lot of missed riding time to make up for

Took the wheels with 13 year old tires off and put them in the truck to have new Duro 918s mounted. Then I put new lower brake lines on the front. The Hunley is back on her furniture dolly.

Plasti-dip. That's what I did.

I read plenty of advice before actually pressing the spray button. Kept the can warm (bucket of water in the sun in OK), shook it plenty, and cleared the nozzle in between coats. 30-40 minutes between coats. I did 2 base, then 4 more full coats on the garnish, and 3 on the grille. Very happy with how it turned out.

My goal is to do all of the trim and big chrome pieces in black. I'm probably going to do the lower body work in Anthracite Grey. I'm going for something like the F6B look.

Here's a "work in progress" album if you're interested, as well as my "beauty shots."

.

Replaced the front E3 with a new E4. Got 25,000 km out of the E3. And the manufacturing date was pretty new at 222018.

Those tires have a tough carcass, a real workout for the arms. I let the tires sit in the sun for a couple of hours before working on them. That is the best way to handle them.

Changed the plugs in both the 1000 and 1800. #2 still very sooty on the 1000, so I just moved one of the good used plugs to it. 1800 plugs were worn to ~.050"

.

A few years ago I converted the cornering lights on my 97' 1500 SE to LED. This year one of them burnt out so I ordered the 50 watt ones that Cyclemax sells.

I pulled the tupperware and installed the new bulbs. Looks good, don't want to be without all my forward facing lights. Idiot 4 wheelers still try and run me over.

Saturday, my daughter and I doubled up on the little Piaggio MP3 250cc scooter.

it is only 3 miles from home to the Will Rogers Home Place, where he was born and grew up on the banks of the river that would become Oologah Lake.

each year, on his birthday weekend, a Flyin is held, and lots of old era airplanes come to set down and let us scattered brained idiots walk around, feel, and touch.

I used to own a Piper PA-22 TriPacer and saw several Piper Cubs there, one of which, the owner was showing me some little tiny fins that are attached to the leading edges of the wing... the disrupt the airflow at steep angles of attack and let the airplane literately hover at and land at 22 knots airspeed.

I got his picture in front of his pride and joy...

back in a second, gotta upload those pictures.

Today I cut the baffles off and drilled a couple more holes in the 1200. Sounds awesome. I hope itís not blasphemous. But having a bike with no radio I wanted something good to listen to. Ha ha
