It’s been a little over three months since my open heart surgery. Today, was the day I was given full permission to ride the bike. Over the last 3 months, I’ve been giving some strong consideration to selling my bike. Last year was a bad year, as far as dropping it, and the surgery this year, made me question my “need” to ride.

Pulled the battery, cleaned the terminals and topped off the water. Put on my new chrome side covers from Cyclemax, and it gave it a whole new, cleaner look. Too bad Digger sold his 1500, being the chrome nut he is. I’m sure he is regretting his decision to trade “up”?

Put a half can of Seafoam in the crankcase to flush out last years oil, and headed for a 200 mile ride. After 10 minutes on the bike, I remembered why these bikes are so addictive. Love the power and ride. Won’t be selling anytime soon………..

I don`t really think they want you to sit around and do nothing at all. If the Dr. okay`d the Gold Wing, I would be on mine in a second.

Hey Mike, if it does come about that you don't feel comfortable with a 'Wing consider a Silverwing 600 or Bergman 650. These things are actually serious transportation and tourers. I've seen four different people touring the country on maxi-scooters. That's why I bought mine, when the knees get too bad for the heavy 'Wing I'll keep on two wheels with the scooter. It feels so light when manuvering around parking lots and so solid at 80mph and above on the road I tend to do most errands nowadays with it.

But in the meantime keep putting miles on that Goldwing!

Dang, and I thought I was gonna get to trade up. :chee ky1:

Mike, I didn't even buy my 1100 until after my triple bypass. I decide that if my heart was gonna be my way out of this life then I was going to get back to doing something I loved to do.

Glad to hear you're back on 2 wheels.

Michael
