Hate when that time of the year comes. I try to ride as long as possible, but once they start salting and sanding, it's pretty much over for me. Hope the winter goes fast Aitkameg!

Sometime you move to where the food is, and sometimes you move to where the warm is.

Ya I know what you mean this morning it was 33 degrees when I left the house not many more riding days left before I will have to start using the 4 wheeler

Lived in Churchill for a few years. It'll be getting colder there every day now.

We had a little covering of snow when we woke on Thursday morning, fortunately it was all gone by lunch time. Then Friday dawned clear and bright and I had to go into Town about 20 miles away so I went on the 'Wing. I had a trip over the Churchill barriers (Scapa Flow defences), right down to the South of Orkney at Burwick and then back to Town. I visited some friends on the way back and the views were fantastic all day - bright sun, lovely blue Atlantic views and still a few cows in the fields. The councils vandals had put a small amount of salt around the Town to keep the cagers from hitting each other on bone dry roads - but the bike was due for a 'bottoming' clean anyway. Quick round trip of 100 miles. Hope we get some more days like that - we often do, right through winter even as far North as we are (59 N)

Regards,
Ian and Christine

calling for frost here in ky over the next few days. Hopped on the wing yesterday morning and rode into work. Had to snicker when I got to work and found out it was 37 degrees. It was a great ride. I'm going to keep going until there is a chance of ice and snow on the roads.

Nova Scotia and Cape Breton Island are reported to have the highest average annual temperature in all of Canada and after living here for five years I can report that it is true. My riding season begins in early March and ends in late December. However, I know there are places in southern coastal British Columbia and Vancouver Island where one can ride all year round. Only the price of real estate and family keep me away from BC and on Cape Breton. Someday I would like to live on a sailboat on Georgia Strait, thus avoiding the cost of home and property ownership and have a couple of motorcycles for the misses and I to tear around on and for running errands. Dreams are good, they give us something to aim for!

Life is like a roller coaster, full of ups and down\'s.
Most people just lay on the tracks, I prefer to ride my bike!
