Hi guys, I am considering buying a '81 goldwing, and after I left looking at it, I thought about the 10% ethanol in the gas here in NC and the possability of 15% in the near future... well anywaydoes ethanol effect the fuel lines, and carbs, tanks etc on these pre ethanol bikes. Thanks Denny

Up to 10% doesn't seem to have to many adverse effects. The 15% kind of worries me but only time will tell.

I've ridden several 1100s running on 10% Ethanol with no problem. There is a slight loss of mileage but other than that it doesn't seem to do any harm. Still pisses me off that so many US States mandate that crap in gasoline.

If the tank has been patched with JB Weld the ethanol will dissolve it
