For the larger part of my life, I've skied and climbed many mountains (including the three in the photo above). I've also ridden a powerful motorcycle through some of the best mountain ranges in the world.... Am I satisfied? Hell, no! I need to ski and ride more! Much, much more!

There is nothing half so much worth doing, as simply messing around on a pair of skis or a sweet running bike! (my apologies to cartoonist Walt Kelly.....)

True happiness comes in learning contentment in what one has. Savor what you have accomplished and enjoy what you are now doing. Constantly wanting for more than you have could really bring a person down.

Yup, many but many of my skiing friends are also riders; must be some sort of similar connection in the brain (or disconnection!). I do know that a good series of twisting corners on the bike will cause my heart to beat faster, my lungs to pump deeper, my eyes to get "quicker," just like they do going down a steep mountainside on good snow...... loverly feelings, both......

Both provide an adrenaline rush ... like coming into a sharp corner a little too'hot' on the bike, or going too fast around a downhill turn with your edges 'chatterin',only to find an icy drop off waiting for ya ahead on the trail!

Been there on both occasions.
