In the Canadian Tire "Canada Day" weekend flyer there is a gel seat pad, regular $40 on sale for $9.99. Can't go wrong for $10! I just bought it and tried it out on my GL1500 - very nice! I find my stock seat too soft on long trips. This'll fix that.

Good find Daryl, they are on sale 3 or 4 times a year & always grab a couple, Guess I"ll stop by this morning for my daily fix, I have one cut to shape for the top layer in my seat.

Thnx. I just threw the pad over the top. It doesn't seem to move around at all. How are you using yours?

I've recut & refoamed my seat a few times, trying different layers of foam, form on the bottom to soft on top, I use the gel for the top layer, I did 900 miles (17 hrs / left only 5 hrs for the 2nd day)) coming back from Seans (sb in sc) on my 1 st day, works well. I had a habit of kicking it off the top when dismounting - not anymore.

Good to hear. I've found stock seat great for around town, but on long hauls it's so soft after a while it feels like my butt is right on the seat pan! Man, you're a long miler! I don't think I could do more than 3 tanks of gas in a day!

Thanbks Daryl

I use them all the time and am due for a coupla new ones.

We own a 2007 Goldwing with 65,000 KM ( 39,000 Mi. ) on it.

The best part about owning a wing is you know what your next bike is going to be. ( We know, we just bought our 3rd Goldwing )
