I have read on MCDarksider site that this is a possible fit for the 1100. But I have not been able to find if anyone has confirmed this.
So, does anyone have a used 175R16 Austone Taxi Tire they are willing to part with or does anyone have any experience with this tire on the 1100?
I have a spare 1100 wheel that I could mount the used one on and then go from there.

No way on the 80-81 which used 17 inch wheels, I would doubt very seriously it would fit on the 82-83 16 inch wheel, due to such a narrow wheel and a fat bead area of a ct, and the with of the tire itself. If you look at the clearance you have between your present tire and the driveshaft of the swingarm, it is not even a 1/2 inch, and that 175 tire is over a inch wider. AllI can say is good luck. Even running a 1200 swingarm which is a hair wider, once modified to fit a 1100, it still might be a challenge.

The 82 Aspy also uses a 16 inch rear, It runs a 140-90-16 and there is about 1/4 inch clearence to the swingarm. you might get a 145 car tire in there if they made them ( I havent found one yet, and I have been looking )

The tread width of the Austone is 5.5 inches and its circumfrence is 26.90 inches. If these measurements are the same or less than what is on it now, it should fit. I am installing an Austone on my Valk today. Google Austone Taxi Tire and you will find it.

With a MT the tread width is the widest part of the tire, on a CT the tread isnt as wide as the sidewallWhat is the sidewall width of the taxi tire? tread width may be 5.5 inches but I bet the overall width is greater.

What size rim width? The 82 has a 3.5inch rim and is likely too narrow for the CT. I would love to be wrong on this as I want to go Darkside myself, if you know something about this that I havent figured out yet then I say to you "Teach me,Obi-won-Kanobe"

Will post pics of clearance to swingarm with a 140 tire tomorrow

Hey Roadrouge.
Not to argue with you statment but I have never thought about how the tread width is measued on a MC tire. Obviously unlike a CT the tread wraps around the tire. so possibly it is messued from tread to tread edge. that would mean that tires of a diffdent brand or model may have a diffrent overall width even if they have the same spec.
something to consider
