The lil cable, the one that actuated the locks on either side, broke.

The manufacturer couldn't provide a replacement, and it is way to skinny to be available at a hardware store.

My fix? I used a bicycle derailleur cable and two 1/16" aluminum ferrules. I cut the cable long enough to have the cable attach to either side, with a small loop outside the helmet. I ran it outside through the chin vent. The ferrules are used to make a loop on either end, then smash them tight.

I put some heat shrink on the cable before I did this, so the part that is outside is covered. Since the derailleur cable is pretty rigid in short lengths, it wont flop in the wind.

I tug on that lil loop, and the latches open up. I can use the modular feature again...
