We went up July 4th this year in the cage while on vacation, over 2 weeks 5 States and abought 4,500 miles. We took my dad and step mom along. He is 74 with a senior pass for National Parks and it did not work at Pikes Peak but from what I understand the city owns the road and they collect the toll to pay for the road and improvements. They have signs at the gate explaining that no tax dollars are used for road maintenance or anything else. They were building new toll boths when we went up.
I know that it was worth the fee to go up. My wife, kids and parents enjoyed it. I would really enjoyed it better on my Goldwing and I plan on riding it up one of these days. It's on my bucket list. I also want to ride through Wyoming, Grand Tettons, Yellowstone and any other place I can think of.

I did see some Goldwings up there..

I just wish I could have road my Wing up the peak!!!

Enjoy the ride...
Philip

It isn't part of the National Park Service, so that does't work.

You are right Brianinpa. We also went to the Grand Tettons and Yellowstone and had no problem getting the hole van load into either one without paying.
We had alot of fun and I am ready to do it again!!!!

Did it 2-up in the dark in 1973 on my 1970 CB750. I'm pretty sure it was all dirt back then but could be wrong.
