This is my version of a restore, really more customized than restoration. I got the bike when my Step-Dad, Fred passed away. My Mom gave it to me as we rode together a few times, and she knew I loved the bike. Iuploaded some files to my gallery, but you can look at my blog @: http://www.galenavery.blogspot.com

Here is a list of all I have done, or had done:

Throttle cable
Speedometer and cable
Rear Master Cylinder
Rear Brake pads
Carb Re-build Kit
New Exhaust Pipe Tips (Shorty Double Turn-Downs)
New Gas Tank
Front Fork Rebuild Kit
New Fuel Filter
Timing Belts
New Progressive Rear Shocks
LED Clusters and LED Bars on Back and Sides
Rear Round Running Lights from a Harley
New Vented Windshield for Vetter Windjammer
Vetter Radio Box I got from a forum member
New Tires/Valve Stems fron and Back
New Emblems and Hardware from: http://www.crescentmooncycles.com
Carb Intake Tubes
New Battery
Starter Rebuild Kit
New Seat
Passenger Floorboards
HandGrips
Choke Cable
Csutom Matte Black Paint by Paul

And of course, lots of new wiring!

This is how it progressed from star to almost finished. I think Fred would love how it turned out, my Mom - who gave me the bike did! Will update again in a few.. The last pic is fuzzy anyway. lol I did the emblems because I liked how the new ones popped, and I had too many questions about "what is it?" from people who had never seen an "Oldwing".

Let me know what you think ....

Looking good, you've obviously put some serious time into it. The matte black finish is starting to grow on me. I'm thinking everything matte black except maybe the pipes, carb covers and handle bars. Just my $.02.

BTW, what's the unit mounted on top of the trunk?

I thought about that too, may still do it. Might do a bit of powder coat here and there to facilitate longevity on those parts where paint is not a good fit. Thanks for the response.

Oh, the unit on top of the trunk is a dummy light, brake light. It was on there when I got it, but it is now LED!
