Paul, I think we are about the same vintage, and it will not be a lot longer for me either as the 1500 seems to be gaining weight... and I hope our paths cross again too... in fact I have this idea that if/when I get that light sport plane, I'll make a trip up the coast and let you show me some bush flying... anyway, however scarce you make yourself, you have already had a significant impact and the legacy of your 30,000+ posts, most of them with value added... I'll look forward to hearing about the changes and new interests..

I'll still be checking in here to see if I can be of any help to anyone and to see how things are going for Saunders forum friends.
I'm thinking of downsizing to another Silverwing scooter.

Oh, I'll still be around here, I wouldn't want to waste my degree in Goldwing care and feeding. I've had a good time shaking down this new to me SW. Forgot how light and responsive they are. Quick too. Now I'll have to spend more time figuring out what makes these things tick. I'm planning on looking into the ignition timing restriction. Honda apparently keeps the advance from moving up until 8-10mph is achieved. Apparently they didn't want the rear tire spinning or lifting up the front end. I'd like to see what happens with full power from the get go. I think it would even get go faster.

Right behind you, Boss..... I keep seeing in my mind's eye a comfortable, camping equipped, Subaru-powered Vanagon pulling a lightweight trailer upon which are two bicycles and one Honda Silverwing.

Set up a comfortable camp, in the Black Hills, say.....and make day trips.....come home at night to lawn chairs, cool drinks, roaring fire. We've crossed the country a half-dozen times on our touring motorcycles, sleeping in a tent; we have nothing to prove.

Got a picture of the CDI unit handy? Honda is pretty good about using the same form for different functions...

No pictures of any parts yet, I never got into my previous one much because it didn't need any work. This one is pretty much the same though I'll probably pull some plastic later on this winter to install a bit of wiring for my Gerbings (and hope it can power them), a 12V outlet in the left cubby, to power my GPS which is already mounted on the bike. I started to make a bracket today and discovered I'd saved the old one from my previous Silverwing. What luck I saved an hour or so of whittling aluminum. I need to add a top box, a modulator for the head light and taillight and perhaps a tank bag so I'll have enough room to see how this scooter touring is going to work next spring or summer.

Sure would have been easier to have kept the other Silverwing.
