I've toured all over the eastern half of the country, and at least 2 providences in Canada with my license covered by one of those racks. Never a problem. Of course it may be that I just haven't found the right police.

I do see the option of adding lights and a plate mounting bracket to the rack. That is a good idea if not removing the rack a lot I guess.

Simply attach the lights via a Trailer Connector, and it dis/connects in seconds!

Most likely, after you used the Manage Attachments and saw them in the "Upload List", you failed to click on Upload and closed the window too early.

I am going with the Kuryakan rack, the price was right. I'll add lights to it. As far as the tag I'll sort that out if the need arises. LOL

[quote=us385south;3109089]I think one of the most useful things you can do is the make the rack fit a standard sized cooler. I use this cooler basically like a luggage trunk... once I get to where I am going... it serves as a cooler pretty well too.

Your rack is awesome. Did you make it or buy it? If you bought it, please advise as to where. Love that it has lights. We have 2012 GL1800 CSC Trike and this would be a perfect addition for longer trips.

Please advise!!

Absolutely. Any officer whose worked a few gas drive offs will take a less than charitable look at a vehicle with obscured tags.

It's why:
On my 1200 bike I raised the tag up all the way with an additional aluminum plate between the tag and bracket, that little bit raised it enough it stays visible.

On the 1500 trike, the tag mounted lower ..... so I included a bracket for tag mounting on back of my cooler rack.
Any additional lighting is easily worked using a simple trailer style flat 4 contact connector.
