I bought heated clothes and said "screw waiting for nice weather!" Riding season greatly increased! Worth the investment and dressing in layers isn't needed any more. Between the clothes and now a CT, my riding season is greatly improved.

I had a co-worker say he could smell the tire before a bad situation. He hit a nail and air was leaking. Before the bike went into crazy movements, he was able to smell the heated rubber and pulled off. My fear is a blow out. Great to hear what people experience, then have some kind of thought as to what to do.

Run flats have a stiffer sidewall then non run flats. So the ride might be a bit rougher. I'm not absolutely sure about that as I run a non run flat.
I have a Hankook Optimo H426 195/60R16 89H on the back set at 40 psi for now.
I have about 1000 miles on it have no problems on the highway or in the twisties. I can lean the bike over just as far as my butt will let me. (When the butt clinches that's far enough.)
The ride is smooth. Tar snakes don't twitch the bike like the worn out E3's were doing.
I haven't ridden in the rain yet but with what I've found so far, I won't have a problem.

Rode last night and hit 5,000 miles now on this CT. Not bad for just over one month on it. Nipples on left side of tire are gone and the right is almost scrubbed.

Starting to practice low speed cornering. Left isn't hard to scrape the pegs, but right turns take a little more effort. Car tire is holding up to the test!

I run a Michelin Primacy Alpin PA3 ZP 195/55-16 on mine and have about 10k on it and the tire looks great. Going at 30psi. Better traction, good in the curves, last allot longer and cheaper that a cycle tire.

Life was a rock until my goldwing sold me. Gotta go riding so my inner biker told me. At the end of my rainbow lies my golden oldie.
Some people see things as they are and ask why. I dream of things that never were and ask why not.

Should I be looking for an H or V rating on the tire?

Likely going to be buying a tire next week for the rear since the service department said my tires were getting close to needing changing.

Go for a V rated or an H rated run flat.

With no God over the state, the state then becomes not the defender of liberty but the definer of liberty.
