I just came back from a trip to Amity, AR to see Dave Ogden,
and took a different route coming home.

the 2797, now that it is working correctly, is a joy to use.

the 7 inch screen gives me a birds eye view of the country around where I am going for several miles. I was able to see the tight turns, sometimes two or three turns in advance were displayed so that I had a feeling of how this road is going to be....

almost like I had traveled over that road before... but I had not.

The Voice Command feature is finicky... the environment must be QUIET !!!
if there is any wind noise, fergid about it... it ain't going to work.

For my Pontiac Vibe, that means that anything above 35 mph is all manual, no voice control. that car is very tire noisy, rumbles, wind noise around the door seams....

I have hated that car for that reason since the first time I got in it years ago.
but, the seats fit me perfectly, it handles like a dream, gas mileage is so so at 27 mpg if 60 mph...

but the GPS is now dependable and I am enjoying it a lot more.

BaseCamp is a POS, it will NOT install on my PC.
it does on my laptop, but I refuse to even look at it on the laptop, the screen is too small. the keyboard is atrocious.... press a key and nothing.... yuck!

for some reason, when I tried to upgrade BaseCamp, it quit working and so did MapSource. now I don't have either one of them on my PC.

Larry, do you have the install .exe file for MapSource?
I can't find it anywhere, apparently, Garmin will sue anyone who wants to distribute it. FileHippo my favorite place to get old files, does not have a single thing from Garmin.
