Purolator L14682 filter failures

anyone heard of this? had 2 guys using the purolator filter, L14682. installed during an oil and filter change. came out to find a puddle of oil under the bike by the filter. filters were installed correctly and the filter gasket surface was clean.

both filters were purchased at wal-mart if that helps.

might be a bad batch of filters so be careful.

whats the correct purolator filter for the 1500?

is it possible they also did not remove the O-ring?
double gaskets will do that.

gaskets were not on the block in both cases

Why is this in the feedback forum? I doubt Honda cares what happens with an aftermarket part.

I've been using the Purolator L14610 on my 1500 with no issue to date . I think L14610 is a longer filter, though that should have nothing to with it leaking.

were they installed to the makers torque spec?
Its easy to way over-tighten an oil filter- then the rubber seal gets squeezed and wont seal!
