HFT bike lift sale $69! thru sept 28-2015

Couldnt figure out where to post this = which forum
The Harbor Freight Tools `bike lift`/jack- the one that slides right under and lifts the Wing with ease
on sale for 69.99 usually $89-100-129
So far it works fine for Wing oil changes, front end overhaul and
I'm about to learn how well it does with rear tire change~

Other uses, raise the bike for cleaning and detailing- spin the wheels for visual inspection,
tire pressure and polishing

I bought the same unit when the Wing came home in March. Happy enough with it to tell 2 friends

Do get some short but strong tie down straps, 4 - thats a lot of weight to wobble while you work

Note: If leaving lift partway raised overnight with the bike on it- but not high enough to lock into the safety catch, place a 2x4 in the bars where it will jam and serve as a stop- otherwise jack will lose pressure overnight...with the bike gently nosing down into the garage door
those latches are for a reason! who knew!!

I have no affiliation with HFT or anyone- only passing on information

Yep, good jack, mine quit after being left out all winter. I just used an extra eight ton jack I had in the shop to replace the bottle jack on the lift. Works better than the original bottle jack.

Just be careful. I saw on a couple of reviews where they dropped their bike.

"I can't fix it ,if it ain't broke...ya want me to break it, first???"
Expect the unexpected. But don't expect the unexpected to be the unexpected you expected !

I get the coupons in my email - so there may be the occasional special offer, it did say sale was till the 28th

Sign up and see! call your store and ask. When it was 89 the computer still took the 20% coupon!!
because its a bike LIFT not a JACK which are excluded!!

The lift can only collapse if you are stupid like us = and didnt raise it high enough to reach the first lock point for the security/stop bar
Had that been in place it wasn't going down!
If you do leave it unsecured/lower than the security latch- place a 2x4 across the frame under front section- it cant go down when wood is wedged in there!
Better to raise the bike to the 1st of 3 lock points..the instructions probably mentioned that..guessing
Looks scary- thats why you attach tie down straps, so it doesnt wobble on the stand

Most hydraulic jacks can and do lose pressure overnight- you put weight against a cheap rubber seal and guess what happens!

Bought mine at HF (Larin .... and it's red) back 13-14 years ago, replaced ungraded metric bolts with grade 8 1/2" bolts ..... works great!

I didn't have mine when I did the stator, looks like it worked!

I do have a plan to use it if ever I need to drop the C-6 with NP205 iron transfer case attached from my older F150.
