Seat question for the 1500 goldwing

Will a 98 model seat fit a 92 model

I'm pretty certain that all GL1500 seats were the same, except for color variations, and some that did or did not come with the seat cover built in under the backrest (actually, part of the seat). Maybe someone who has actually swapped them can reconfirm this, but that is my understanding. I have a '97 seat for sale, if you're looking.

I believe the seats changed in later years. They are lower and narrower up front to help with seat height.

All the seat pans are the same I believe, it is just the shape of the cover and padding that adjusted so they should interchange. If memory serves, the improvement in foam shape came in 95.

Yes, all of the bottom frames are the same.

Putting that '98 seat on an early bike will give you 1.5 inches of more leg room.

I had a '94 and could just put my toes on the ground.

Installed a brand new '97 seat that someone thought was junk (they bought a Corbin) and low and behold, the front is narrower, I could put the heels of my boots flat on the ground.

made that '94 a lot more comfortable for me.
