that helmet definitely paid for itself right there, and kept your innards from becoming ooze on the pavement.

Yep, that extra 4 lbs of plastic was too much for your neck to handle so the plastic was rubbing on the asphalt.

Its optional here in my state. I wear a half, and don;t ride with people who won't.

I don't care if you wear a helmet or not, but if you ride a loud motorcycle or drink even one beer on a ride, you are on your own.

Or if you act a fool.

Oh yea, one other limiting factor. I would never have sex with someone who wears a condom!

I live in Texas so it's your choice. Having been born and raised back east I always had to wear one. Moved out here about 9 years ago and stopped wearing one. My eyes went bad so I had to ware glasses. I used to wear goggles. I cant stand the wind in my eyes. Now I wear a 3/4 helmet with a flip down shield to keep the wind out of my eyes. Helmets are hard to ware in 100 to 120 degree heat as we get here in the summer. Still have not found a helmet with good air flow through it. They say they are vented but I don't feel any flow threw them.

I can never tell if the Vents on a helmet are open or closed.
none of them make any difference.

I have to open the face shield a bit to get some air inside, and that introduces noise...
sigh....

I was thinking of what you said ,or the research says while riding to the gun range in FL.I wore riding jacket and helmet to there but removed in the way back. Riding without all the crap is way more fun and more comfortable. If the law allows it are you willing to take the risk? Its your head ,you decide.
