Honda Plus Extended Warranty

Hello everyone. As a new Goldwing owner, I just purchased a 2015 F6B, a dealers Demo, from a Honda Canada dealer in the Toronto area. As a demo, it comes with the standard Honda 3 year warranty. Im considering purchasing the Honda Plus extended warranty for an additional 3 years.

I would appreciate hearing any comments whether this is a good idea or not really necessary, given the great reputation for trouble free service Goldwings enjoy.

Many thanks,

Most of the time it is a waste of money, that's what the warranty co bets on.

I also never buy extended warranties.
I have never, found a situation where they have been worth the money you pay "up front".

If you decide to buy, remember your original 3 year ends on the date the dealer notified Honda he was putting it in service as a demo.....Some think the warranty starts when they
bought the Wing from the dealer....Just be sure you buy before the end of the original 3 year. Honda has this info in their system and can advise you of the start date.

The other question you want to ask yourself is how many miles are you going to ride.. If you only ride 10k a year, that nothing but if you're going to hit 130k in 3 years it might be worth it............

I plan to ride about 10 to 15k annually as we have a relatively short riding season in Toronto. I appreciate your comments.

I just checked on this today at the dealer. For an 1800 it's $800 to extend for 4 more years. Personally I'm leaning towards doing it. At less then $17 a month it will give me more peace of mind then keeping the money in the bank ( or at the gun store where it will likely end up ! ) lol.

It's about $1,700 in Canada (Toronto). That said, I'm not sure what kind of repair costs I can expect over the life of the warranty, to determine whether it is a wise investment.

Thanks for your reply!
