Neat trick for keeping plastic

Hey everyone, happy new year! I found a cool trick to keeping your bike's plastic with you as the plastic ages and the rubber grommets stiffen or dissentigrate.
When I was prepping the bike for the FL trip I doscovered/caused a few tabs that had broken off. My solution is to use self adhesive tape (aka coax seal), it really holds things in, and yet can be pryed apart. It works especially well for goldwing in the molding on the firing of the 1500.

Or you could just replace the rubber grommets as they get old.

true, but as a ham radio op I always have this around and it is nice for a quick fix and can be found locally.

White Lithium spray grease works wonders on the rubber grommets and pegs

Also- you can find bags of them new...cheap from China- ebay- says right in the description- packaged for Show Chrome

Thank you, One of the long strip of plastic around the whatchomaycall, that goes up and down lost a bit of the retainer on the lower side. I think Ill give it a try.

I make sense all the time. The problem is you only listen intermittently
