CB Question GL 1500

Ok I am in the process of trying to find an external mic to fit my GL 1500 I don't want to use intercom headset I am going to go
with bluetooth head set for driver and rider. But I want to be able to use CB if I want to, is there a kit to add an external mic to my intercom port? Thanks MCFF

You might want to look at a Sena Freewire. It is a Bluetooth that connects the bike system to a Bluetooth helmet.

I have never figured out the whole wireless thing on a bike, to me, traveling and trying to find a way to recharge is annoying, since I almost always camp, and many bluetooth modules cant charge and operate at the same time. I would just build an adapter that allows you to plug in to a headset like this:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-Mo...19.m1438.l2649

and provide a voltage to the electret mic. That is what I did for my first headset build, and it works great.

I just finished a headest switch that allows me to switch between my onboard systems, my bluetooth (to my phone and through my speakers), and my ham radio. If that is something you are interested in, PM me.

The difficulty in splitting the mic output on the headset is possible, but not advisable. This is because the possibility of ground loops and impedance mismatches.

Sena freewire.

Only a biker knows why a dog puts his head out of a window of a moving vehicle.
