Who will be first??

I wonder who will be first to get a 2018 Wing and list their complaints?? Is there going to be a special 2018 Wing section of this forum all about the good and bad of the new Gold Wing?? How equipped do you think any dealer will be to handle all the new technology on the new bike? If you have to take it to a dealer for repair or recall you might be in for a long wait.

I don't think my SS check is big enough for me to even think about it.

I don't think we should start discriminating against and segregating models. We have a sub forum dedicated to trikes and sidecars because they work and act differently from bikes, and have different mechanical concerns. The '18 is merely a new model of the same old beast.

I agree. An 1800 is an 1800, but for some reason they are creating one in goldwingdocs....

Really looking forward to see one and judge it for myself. I'm short so a lighter, narrower wing may fit me perfectly. But, my new to me 08 with less than 8k on it should last the rest of my riding days. So no new 1800 for me!

New 'Wing will be good ...real good!

I like the forums that break down the models into "Generations". Makes it easier to find something. When I punch in "alternator issue" I do not want posts from the GL1200!
The "New" Goldwing will not be held up in the dealerships due to new technology. Parts availability, maybe, but how many Techs have never seen a DCT trans, or a shock, even though it is on the front end? The new 'Wing will more than likely be easier to work on, due to the electronic integration. Something tells me all of the GL1800's switches placed everywhere are a pain in the butt!

I was so happy to be on my 'Wing that I patted her tank and was laughing in my helmet!

That's like saying a Gold Wing is a Gold Wing.
The new 1800 is so much different from the older ones, electronics, front end, tranny, and so much other stuff. I just think it would make it easier for someone looking for something specific to the new Wing from going looking at a bunch of other posts about other years Gold Wings before finding the answer they need.
