rear tire for 1983 GW interstate

Need to replace my rear tire on a 83 Interstate. Dunlop Elete series does not come in my size. Looking for a good 140/90-16 tire. I see the following tires:

Shinko
Michelin Commander II
Bridgestone Exedra Max Bias
Avon AV72 Cobra

The last dealer put a Dunlop 404, After 2 years the side walls started to expand and now rubbing on the brake bracket.

Found out 404's wern't made for the weight of the bike.

I know about the Michelin and Bridgestone tires but not the others.

Any recommendations?

the Shinko tires get a lot of good press, don't know about fit for that bike though.

Well, that's a start.

They do make a tire for me, just don't know about the weight issues.

The shinko 230 tourmaster gives a 908 lb weight rating in that size.

I'm running Shinko 777 heavy duty tires on my 83 interstate.put on Jan 3rd ,have almost 7 thousand miles so far.my bike handles well in all conditions.i ride weather.weather anyone else will or not.have matching front .handles good 2 up on highway no noticeable tire hum.have custom rear trunk, empty bike sits at about 840 lbs.tread wear is really good.has a sport bike profile and heavy duty sidewall.150 for the pair.mounted myself with balance beads.

Not the destination, but the ride

Dunlop D404 on the rear of the '80 1100 STD... New last summer. No issues with them yet, last two rear tires were 404's too, gave good service. I was unaware of the weight rating (didn't check)

Iíve got Avons on my sidecar rig. Seems to handle the extra weight just fine and is wearing well. Canít tell you anything about how it handles the twisting.

Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. Its having the right attitudes that's hard.
