Yyyyyyyeah I noticed that unfortunate flaw as well in the pics and was going to post a question regarding that very issue. However, since we are already here, what's the availability on getting new parts vs something repaired for the LCD display? I have seen a lot of them on eBay and other places but not sure if there is a "best" source for these items.

If you can afford it buy a 1800, 2001 or newer. I have a 1993 gl 1500 and it's a great bike but if I could do it over I would buy 1800.

Right now, having 6 bikes and being a new winger hopefully soon, I'm trying to stay within a budget. That being said, my deadline for getting "something" is approaching and that's August 15th. I'd like to grab a wing at least a few weeks prior so I can really go through the bike before venturing out cross country.

You could always do the cross-country trip the OTHER direction: a know of a really nice 2006 that's for sale in Hollister, California for under $8000. It's been meticulously maintained and will run forever! Hop on a plane to get here and ride it home!

I'll be in Camarillo on the 13th - 16th for business. Could take a trip up 101..............Not a bad idea but have to stick to the budget.
