hyper flashing

just installed LED'd on my 03 GL1800 trike getting some hyper flashing on directionals .what's the easiest fix ?the hyper flashing isn't that bad ,just faster than normal

Probably because the LEDs don't pull enough current to make the flasher element to get hot enough to have the proper rate.


never worked on that circuit, but I'm thinking you need to replace the Flasher itself with an Electronic Flasher that does not care how much, or little current is on the load...


Remember how the older cars were when one bulb burns out? they flash real fast.

The quickest and best fix is to use the correct bulbs. They're probably brighter than the LEDs too.

It's a pain to get to but you can replace the flasher circuit in the dash display with a digital for about $10 and some wire. Their is s 3 wire plug accessible under the windscreen and it's fairing piece. You'll need to wire the flasher unit into the 3 wire plug. I think I added a pic to my profile media/photos. Over heard the wire can be reached from the underside in the form tunnel but I didn't try that with my big hands.

you might be right ,I didn't notice much difference in brightness
