Mater cylinder “window” broke

So I picked up my shadow yesterday and upon looking it over I’ve noticed the window on the master has a piece missing. But I’ve still got brakes...

Those sight glass things can be replaced. Parts can be gotten on eBay.

If there's a piece missing, does it leak?

I bought the pieces for mine but haven't gotten around to replacing them yet.

Why ain't we ridin'?

The “glass” is like a plastic material and has pieces broken out of it. I haven’t checked the level but the brakes definitely work. Rolled it out of the truck super steep and it stopped perfect. I don’t get it haha

I had similar experience with a Suzuki GZ250. The glass was all cracked. The fluid level was low , but the brake still worked. I ended replacing the glass piece anyway.
