A lot of these bikes have sat for many years and the owners have resurrected them. One thing about customs is you either like them or not. Over on NGW I see a lot of people who put a huge amount of work into resurrection and then you have to ask, what are you thinking? Even if I don't like the final outcome, there is usually something to be learned from the restoration.

I like the lobster Harley. Any one of a kind bike, I appreciate for its outside the box thinking.

And they don't have to be 'Wings.

pretty ingenious, brake or no brake.

the picture is too fuzzy to tell if it has a foot brake, but I would imagine that it had something for a brake. Kill the engine?

I built two of those - 1984 Kawasaki 1100LTD and 1981 Suzuki GS850. The 850 was a wreck when I got it (for free). See pics. It was a easy good way to put my 'skills' together and see what developed from it. Fun...but probably wouldn't spend the money to do it again.

Those GS 850ls were nice bikes. Very smooth.

Indeed! And that bugger liked getting the gas. Very zippy. Fun bike and brought back memories to the 1970s when I got my first road bikes.

The UJMs were about as good as it gets for all-around bikes. Don't know as I'd be willing to put much money into one, though. Like anything else, you can't get it back.

Why ain't we ridin'?
