1984 Honda GW

I am looking at 1984 GW, with nearly 70K miles on it.

Are there any known issues on it and should stay away from it?

Consider it being non-running, what would be a good price? Thanks

Oh yeah, always down to ride

Non running, maybe 400 bucks. Take some time and find a good one.

One of our members, from your area, has a nice '85 listed for a steal.

84s are of course good bikes but they are a 1 year only on some things. Depends on how it looks but Dennis is right, $400 tops. Probably take $1000 to get it in shape even if there is nothing major wrong.

Thanks, in all honesty if I can bring it back to good and reliable life for $1000 including price, it's going to be a lot of bike for that much money.

Let's see how it goes

Charging issue and funky mirrors was the downfall, they were the first to melt the wires from the alternator.check and look for the melted plug fro the alternator.mirrors, you see your arm when you look back.they fixed it in 85

Love chasing white lines but they are difficult to catch.Hate drivers with no STOPLIGHTS.

Your $1,000 estimate may be very optimistic. I just helped a friend bring a RUNNING '84 back to the road and he was in it over 3 grand before we were done.

But he pretty well did a restoration, not just getting it road worthy.

$3000 is a lot of money and not sure if there was painting and stripping whole bike down was involved?

I plan to make it in safely rideable condition.

For your planned investment, you can get the bike that I posted the link to. It has good paint and looks to be in exceptional condition.

Sorry, but I don't understand your thinking.

Summer is almost here. Do you really want to spend it working on some neglected POS, or spend it riding?

You will spend way more than $1000.00 on an old non-running bike.

I agree with Bike and Dennis. Buy something that works and enjoy the summer.

I've learned so much from my mistakes, I'm thinking about making a few more.
