360 Camera Tests

I tested this but obviously the settings were wrong. You can turn the camera in any direction while the video is playing.

cool!! lets see more when you get the settings ironed out... Perhaps some additional info on the camera itself...

The camera is the INSTA 360 ONE X camera. It records everything around it in 5.7K at all times. The actual video is clear, but in the process of converting it to a format that you Tube understands, it dropped from a 2 GB file to a 400 MB file, so it lost 80% of the resolution. I have to find out how to retain the 4K quality when I upload to You Tube.

There are many videos about the camera's capabilities on You Tube as well.

Supercalifragilistic!!!!

Well, I'll be honest, and that may be painful. There's no usable footage or sound.

I know there are cameras that do a lot better job of the video. But recording at 4K...Why? I suspect the sound could be corrected by getting the mic out of the wind.

This was just an initial experiment done at night with NO knowledge about how to set up the camera correctly. I was mainly testing the decision to mount it on top of the helmet.

It is pretty neat. Top of the helmet is the only place you could get a full 360.

This is raw video. With the editor program, you can set the normal 16:9 view, and swing that around, or choose from other formats as well. This is blurry because I converted a 2 GB file to a 400 MB file, but it was just a test. Nothing more.

Yeah, I understand it was a test.
