Messages - Deleting

I posted a new thread and I should have performed a "search" first. There were many replies to my issue in previous posts and replies.

I don;t want to clog the forum with a post that has already been answered. How do I go about deleting my original post?

Well, in the first place, don't get overly concerned about complaints about you not doing a search....

Yes, we can all search and search and still not find the answer to what we want.
If you need to get really specific about a search, Google's Advanced search is the best way to go.
http://www.google.ca/advanced_search
Just make sure you specify the domain: www.goldwingfacts.com
if you don't, you will get stuff from other places as well... not that that would be bad.

2nd, if it is important enough, go to advanced in the editor and it will give you the option to delete your post. this is only available for posts, not new threads.
If you started the thread, that option does not appear. Deleting threads can only be done by Moderators or Admin staff.

Which thread concerns you that you wish to delete it?

Thanks, AZgl1500. Sorry for late reply. It was just a general question as I don't want to "burden" the site with a question that already been addressed previously. Will start to use search more; becoming more familiar with site.
