Whilst riding on Sunday my right rear view mirror fell out and smashed. This is the mirror and it's rear plastic housing - all broken. I can only assume that the underside screw had come undone.
Went to Mr Honda, only to find out that you can't just purchase the mirror part, you have to buy the complete mirror assembly (with indicators etc) for the princely sum of $350 Australian dollars.
Now that seems pretty steep for a mirror with a bit of plastic attached.
Does anyone know of somebody wrecking a GL1800, or would just have the part I need? I can pay to get it shipped "down under" to Australia.

Watch ebay, you see plenty of originals for sale where people have bought the fancy ones with the LED flashers on them.

Yeah, but when they buy the fancy one's with the LED flashers - do they come with the black plastic backing that attaches to the assembly? If so, I could buy a pair of the fancy ones for less than the replacement cost of one regular. I assumed that the fancy ones were just the mirrors and attached to the existing plastic backing.

I'm looking to get these...http://www.cyclemaxohio.com/inc/sdetail/11431

They appear to be direct replacements for the stock item including whatever the mirror is fixed to. Take a look at the Muth website, it gives installation instructions.

Don't know if they come in amber though. Good luck with your quest.

Animal testing is cruel. It makes them nervous and they get all the answers wrong.
