Ok, last week when at a cycle shop, another customer there showed me his 86 gl1200 and it had highway floorboards. I told him I would like to have some like that but my engine guard was not the same as his (doesn't have the vertical piece up front like the 1200's) and they wouldn't work on mine. When I said that, he said, no these will work, and he showed me.... The boards mounted on their own vertical "clamp" that went between the top and bottom rail and it would fit an 1100. This "clamp" was a bar that fit between the 2 rails and tightened around the top one and bottom one then the floorboard bolted into the "clamp". I just thought I could find them by doing a search on the net and all would be well. Well, I can't find anything like them anywhere so I am asking here. I didn't get his name or anything so I can't just call him up. Have no idea who he was!

Please someone send me a link to look at these floorboards with their own "clamp"!!!

Thanks,

Do you know what brand or where to get them? I haven't been able to find anything like them.

I think I found them. Here is a link.

I just think they would be more comfortable than "pegs" on the front. Anyway, if anyone else knows of others like this go ahead and send them.

Thanks
Chris

I have a set similar to those on my 1100. They are a pain to clean behind. You have to remove them every time you run the valves also.

I have those exact boards on my 1100.

But the verticle mount shown for the 1200s will not fit the 1100s,the spacing is differant from that of the 1200s

For the 1100 you need to use the clamp mount.

Mine are a bit cramped for me,I am trying to haveextensions made.
