Well for starters be prepared to make a few modifications if you plan on using the 84 engine in the 87 in the wiring department. If it will even go . I'm sure someone will chime in soon to ad any other problems you might have

1984 Aspencade Premium Beige Metalic..... Right Wing
1985 LTD Sunflash Gold 85,530 Grace Brown...... Left Wing
A Bird can\'t fly on one wing
That\'s why I have three wings
And another 85 LTD, LTD 2 Sunflash Gold Grace Brown.... Tail Wing

With three wings I believe I can fly

You didn't mention if the 87 is a carb or fuel injection. If your 87 is a carb, then it'll bolt right up easy, but the pulse generator plug on the 84 is about a foot long so you'll have to splice in your 87's long pigtail instead(different plug end too, one year is a male and the other year is a female).

And make sure the 84 starter is good because the 87 is different. You might want to think about changing out the stator on the 84 as long as you got it out, it's about another $140 including the gaskets.

Or you might think about changing out the head gaskets on the 87 instead of swapping motors? Just a thought.
