My son has decided to restore a 1978 GL 1000 instead of the 81. Thank you for all the help and suggestions. If anyone knows of a 78 headlight, headlight ring and front turn signals please let us know.

Thanks

On the throttle cables see if the rack will move....If it does then you might be able to buy new cables from JCWhitney reasonable...It has two cables one push one pull replace both.....Fenders are not that expensive at your local breaker, chrome one might be more difficult to find not rusted.....There should be someone along to help you with your "wish list"....

There is a guy on eBay selling some rather nice aluminum headlight ears for around $35. I bought a set and they worked really well. I may have a brake lever for you I'll have to look.

A set of ears can be found on e-bay and you need ones with turn signal stalks intact or use aftermarket signals.

I have a GL100 headlight bucket, I think it is a '78 but not sure,it is black fiberglass, and asking $10 + shipping. Bought for my '82 conversion before I realized it won't work on GL1100's. Doug

Have 1982 GL1100 with a 1977 Watsonian Monaco sidecar. Live in Mesa AZ.
