Finally it happened, I was changing the brake fluid and got some on the cowling and cracks started to appear. Anyway, long story short, I need a replacement for it, not one that I have to mortgage the house for. The piece looks like this, kind of. The best would be the part in great shape and Pearl/Ivory. I'd be happy with whatever I can get. Hit me back please with a PM if you got one to get rid of. Thanks for your time.
Brake fluid will normally just eat the paint and not harm the plastic. In fact the way I found out it removed paint was many years ago when I had a HO gauge model railroad set up. Some of the magazines were telling how to repaint the cars, first step was to put them in brake fluid to remove the paint! I tried that and it worked great! I have spilled some but generally cover the bike with several layers of rags or towels before starting the project. Just saying, maybe the 'cracking' is only the paint???
