We had the first color TV in the small town I grew up in. That thing was in the repair shop more than at home.

My mother was always on the cutting edge and we were one of the first to have colored also, but most of the shows were still broadcast in black and white........ You had to have a rotor on the antenna and keep chancing the direction for the best resection for the what the 5 or 6 channels........

We only had the three major networks. TV had remote control and if my one battery operated truck was close to the TV it would change the channel.

I had a CB base station at my house and ran a 300 watt liner, every time I keyed up I changed the channel on my neighbors TV.. I drove them nuts until we figured out what was going on....

Our first color TV was a Heathkit. Dad would have everything set up so we could start soldering in resisters when we got home from school.

You would have to know my dad to understand. He even made the box to put it in and covered it in woodgrain Formica.
