OK let me get this straight. A goldwing without all the farkles. No reverse no cruise 80 lbs lighter and faster than S**T through a goose. Honda did make one, It's called the F6B

I think making things more simple is out of the question for manufacturers. The name of the game is meeting the touring motorcycle buying publics wants and needs. We have become a world of gadgets, high tech engines and electronics and it's more about keeping up with the competition and market share.

Forget "Basic"...I want all the gadgets and toys I can afford! That's why I bought a pristine 1500SE a couple of years ago...everything I wanted at less than 1/3 the cost of a loaded 1800. IF I'd been willing to pay the price...yeah I'd have likely gone for a fairly new 1800 but I'm not sure I'd be any happier with it than with what I have.

Just my humble opinion, but I believe Honda has shown remarkable marketing savvy as the 'Wings have evolved over the decades.
