Sounds like you guys are talking about the1000 v-strom and its younger brother the 650. What are called comfortable adventure bike's. They are pretty much what you are talking about.
One other coment covering the engines with plastic on the 1500 and 1800 was a major mistep on honda's part. Motorcycles are mechanical and need to express it. otherwize there scooters "which is what I refer to my 1500 as". Harley would not have been the runnaway sucsess in the large touring bike market if they had covered up there engine in plastic.Like it or not that big v=twin gives the hd's caracter that goldwings clearly lack after they started to cover there engines.

my first street bike was a cb 500 in the 80's, have you seen the new 13 cb1100?

please reinstall the heat vents and add some side/rear lights back in the 1800. Price is going up and features are being removed. Are we seeing the beginning of the end for the Goldwing?
