I am sure Hondais approached by many people claiming to have a new invention or idea for an addition to a GW. BUT, I am sure I have one. In the process of getting a patent and would like to know where to call to discuss it with Honda?????

Welcome to the forum Jeff. If it's an accessory you are working on, the aftermarket manufacturers give you a much wider base of interest than just going to Honda. There are dozens (at least) of companies making stuff for Goldwings, you could do well to touch base with some of them.

I dealt with Honda at the dealership level for over 30 years. I can tell you that you have 'a snowballs chance in hell' of getting them to fund or accept your new invention… whatever it is. They, like many large companies, abide by the 'not from us- don't use it' adage.

Years ago they copied the Vetter fairing design to mount on the GL1100 Interstate. Made of ABS plastic… like Vetters fairings. Seemed that Craig Vetter didn't patent the design or the material. Oops.

I agree that the aftermarket is the best way to go but get the patent first…. or someone might copy it!!

Honda doesn't even use things that have been in use for years on other brands until they can invent it themselves.

Of course if you need someone to test your invention...... I'm sure you would have plenty of volunteers here!
