Look again at your mounting . You are pushing up in the center of your lower arm . So you have equal pressure to each side ( inner / outter ) of the shock mount . IF you move the lower end of the shock as far to the outside as possible ,you will increase the leverage . I think I am not explaining my self to well . I think the way I see it , the closer to the inboard hinge point of the lower arm the more you are trying to push apart two objects which are bolted together and imovable .

Think of this . If your lower shock mount was mounted on the inboard hinge bolt , it could not left at all because the bolt is fixed to the upper frame . The more you move the lower shock mount to the outside the easier it should lift . The maximum would be to mount the lower shock mount to the outer hinge bolt . Sorry for my rambling on . I hope you are able to solve the problem .

Hello and Welcome Micky . Thats quite an undertaking your thinking of . The two bikes are so completely different . The 1500 engine is much larger and mounts are not compatable . But let me never say never . I would recomend you get the service manual for the 1500 and see all the electronics you need . Then go looking at your local bike breakers or begin searching on Ebay or similar sites . Personally I'd just recomend you find a 1500 with a tired engine . Here is a link to my favorite ebay source for Goldwing bits , though he is in the USA ....A&D Cycle ----Anthony

Best to you in this project .
