just got it set up to start the tear down.

Most coversions do not retain the OEM swing arm!

rayworx, I will post a pic later of the swing arm that came with the kit, I am NOT using it. not much thought went to fab work. I will be building my own using the stock swing arm.

This is going to be interesting. Most units have a beefed up custom swing arm.

That doesn't look that great, it looks like they just welded onto a stock swing arm.
I can see that failing at some point in time from rust.

Actually vary strong. The bike that the kit came from hit something hard enough to snap the left axle and bend the tube on the rear end. The portion that is welded to the stock swing arm has no damage (2X2X1/4). The stock portion bent just a little. I was surprised.
