Ok my 79 gl fuel pump is starting to weep a little fuel from the weep hole . I have heard some people have used new diaphragm material from sbc pumps even the old Rebuildable sbc diaphragm seem a thing of the past around here .my question is has anyone found alternatives, say sheet material? Ebay and amazon show some fabrics if you will, personally even 1/16” seems a little thick to me .... just looking for ideas . No I don’t want to use an old tube I’d rather have a more permanent solution lol thanks
Viton is what yoiu what or fuel pump diaphragm from other similar pumps..here's one site but you can google viton and it can be bought in sheets. I got a bunch for free from a gasket manufacture here in Phoenix..from their scrap trash bin.
I'm with CW. I screwed around with my pump for days and couldn't make it work. I finally bought a new OEM. I paid a lot more than this ad states. I'd jump on it.
I do enjoy repairing and fixing things . And it sounds like a pain in the rear , riding seasons just about done around here but maybe I should get it for next year
I would buy new... like the idea, but dont want to waste the time "trying" to make it work!
